Richard
Harris

January 21, 1948
July 26, 2011
After his NFL playing
days, Harris coached with the NWFL's Puget Sound Jets and Snohomish
County Vikings before moving on to coach in the Canadian Football League.
During his time in the NWFL he played a vital role in getting many NWFL
players a tryout in the CFL. Harris played at Grambling St. and was
the first round draft choice and 5th overall selction by the Philadelphia
Eagles in the 1971 NFL draft. Harris was an All-Rookie selection in
the first of his three seasons in Philadelphia before moving on to Chicago
for the 1974-75 seasons. He joined the Seahawks in 1976 for their inaugural
season and started eight games at right tackle that season and all 14
games at left end in 1977.

Adult Amateur
Football has long been a tradition in the Pacific Northwest. Dating
back to 1961, the NWFL is a non-profit
entity registered with the state of Washington. The goal of
the league is to give athletes the chance to showcase their talents
and earn an opportunity to play at the next level - whether that
is college or professionally. Athletes in the NWFL are not compensated
and therefore retain their college eligibility. Not only is the
NWFL a great arena for players to refine their skills for the
next level, but also a means for football enthusiasts to continue
to participate in full contact football after their high school,
college or pro career has come to a close.
