Started in 1996 by Marshall Jones and
Alicia Coleman, the Blue Devils were affiliated with the league from 1996
through 1999. As a non-league team in 1996 they practiced at South
Seattle's Franklin High School and played games at Mercer Island High
School. Their games moved to French Field in Kent when they joined
the league in 1997. The team was coached by Darren Young, who also
acted as offensive coordinator.
Jones left team after 1997 leaving Coleman
to run the team alone. Scott stepped up and helped Coleman administrate
the team during the 1998 season. There were some negotiations about
Scott taking over the team for 1999 but no agreement was reached and Scott
left to start the King County Jaguars.
With several players following Scott to the Jags,
1999 was a tough season for Coleman and new Head Coach Gary Carpenter.
She decided to take a leave of absence which eventually turned into her
retirement from semi-pro football.
