The Hawks took advantage of Raider special teams mistakes to jump out to a 14-0 lead. The Raiders came back using an opportunistic defense and the passing of Kevin Bickler.

The Raiders appeared to score first late in the first quarter with a Jason Heckel 28 yard field goal but the kick was nullified by a motion penalty. The snap on the rekick was botched and the Raiders were kept off the score board.

Hawk CB Omar Frost picked up a mishandled punt snap and returned it for the games first score midway through the 2nd quarter. Frost also blocked a punt late in the 4th quarter.

Another Raider special teams mistake midway through the 3rd quarter led to the Hawks next score. A short Hawk punt hit one of the Raider upmen and the Hawks recovered at the Raider 30. Three plays later the Hawk QB hit TE Derrick Pleasant down the middle to put the Hawks up 14-0. The play hurt the Raiders on more than just the scoreboard as DE/LB Ibrahim Lowe hurt an ankle on the play and did not return to the game. Despite playing just over half the game, Lowe finished with 9 tackles, 3 sacks and a couple of QB pressures.

... ...
If not for a sprained ankle, LB Ibrahim Lowe might have had his 4th sack of the game...   ...instead the QB was able to get the ball off and TE Derrick Pleasant hauled it in and dove into the endzone.

DT Kimo Fai Fai both caused and recovered a fumble on this play.
The Raiders finally got on the board when Bickler conected with Alphonso Harris on this 37 yard TD pass.

On the first play of the Hawks next possession Raider DT Kimo Fai Fai hit the Hawk ball carrier in the backfield and forced and recovered a fumble. Three plays later Bickler hit Alphonso Harris with a 37 yard bomb to get the Raiders on the board with 42 seconds remaining in the 3rd quarter.

Lajuane Brown pressures the Hawk QB into throwing a pass that was intercepted by MLB Ryan Harrington.

Terrance Dickens

The Hawk offense went 3 and out as the 4th quarter began. The Raiders drove down to the Hawk 15 and on 4th and 8, Bickler lofted the ball to a wide open receiver in the endzone but the pass was dropped. Trailing 14-7, once again the opportunistic Raider defense took the ball away on the Hawks first offensive play. This time Lajuane Brown hit the Hawk QB as he threw the ball forcing an errant pass down the middle. MLB Ryan Harrington leaped up to make the interception and determinedly returned the ball down to the Hawk 13 yard line. Three plays later Bickler hit WR Terrance Dickens on a fade route in the corner of the endzone to tie the score with 10:00 left to play.

CB Wayne Harris came on the corner blitz and forced a fumble that was picked up by DE Mychol Robirds and returned for a touchdown.

The Hawks took over at their own 40 as the Raider kickoff went out of bounds. On 3rd down CB Wayne Harris blitzed and harassed the Hawk QB. Harris couldn't quite bring him down and somehow knocked the ball loose. DE Mychol Robirds picked up the ball and outran the Hawk offense 32 yards to put the Raiders up 21-14.

Brian Carter

A great 50 yard kick return down the right sideline set up the Hawks offense at the Raider 31. On first down the Hawk QB lofted a pass to a well covered Brian Carter in the endzone. The Raider defender mistimed his leap and Carter's catch tied the game at 21 with 7:00 to play.

Omar Frost blocked this Raider punt.
This 32 yard game-winning TD run was nullified by a penalty.

The Raider offense went 3 and out and CB Omar Frost blocked the Raider punt setting up the Hawk offense at the Raider 32 yard line. On 2nd down the Hawks appeared to recapture the lead with an amazing 32 yard sweep around the left end on which the ball carrier broke numerous tackles and even carried several defenders the last 5 yards into the endzone, but a holding call nullified the play. Back to back sacks by Kimo Fai Fai and Beau Gates forced the Hawks to punt.

The offenses exchanged 3 and outs and then the Raiders took over on their own 18 with less that 1:00 left. A 45 yard pass from Bickler to TE Morgan Will gave the Raiders a 1st down at the Hawk 37 - just out of the range of kicker Jason Heckel. The Hawk defense stiffened and 3 consecutive incompletions ended the game. Since it was just a preseason game the refs decided not to play overtime.
