The King County Jaguars hosted the Willamette Valley Raiders with the NWFL's final playoff spot on the line.

The Raiders threatened first with 12 play - 65 yard drive down to the Jaguar 15 yard line. The drive ended on 4th and 5 when Jaguar CB Timothy Marzetti knocked away a pass intended for WR Terrance Dickens. Jaguar DE Demitrius Milloy had 2 sacks on the drive (left) but each time Raider QB came back with a big completion to WR Henry Newson. Raider RBs Alphonso Harris and Kimo Fai-Fai combined for 41 yards on 5 carries on the drive, while Newson contributed 3 catches for 36 yards.

The Raiders again threatened after a short Jaguar punt and 17 yard return by Alphonso Harris set up the Raiders deep in Jaguar territory. On 3rd and 3 DE Pete Johnson blitzed in untouched (right) and pressured Bickler into getting rid of the ball. LB Tommy Thompson intercepted the errant pass and returned it across midfield as the first quarter came to a close. Just a few plays later safety Johnny Lyday jumped in front of a Jaguar receiver for an interception, but a holding penalty on another Raider DB nullifed the play. QB Leo Dickerson drove the Jags downfield and RB Malachi DeWalt scored on an option from 18 yards out. Rick Black's PAT gave the Jags a 7-0 lead.

A short kickoff set up the Raiders near midfield. Alphonso Harris gained 19 yards and then Bickler connected with WR Roy Johnson for 37 yards down to the 1. FB Beau Gates pounded in for the score. The Raiders lined up for the PAT with their best kicker at the game, Brent Lunceford, also their only long snapper so DB Sal Corona was in at kicker. Lunceford's snap went directly to Corona and he rolled to his left and threw a pass into the endzone towards Johnny Lyday. CB Ernie Populus intercepted, preserving the Jaguar lead at 7-6.

The Jags answered right back with 6 play - 53 yard drive. DeWalt broke for 17 yards on 3rd on 1 and then QB Torino Johnson hit Carlos Clark for a 20 yard TD pass. Rick Black connected again putting the Jags up 14-6.

The teams traded punts setting up the Raiders at their own 29 with 2:00 left in the half. Bickler hit Johnson for 12 yards, and then 18 and 41 yard completions to WR Chad Sorenson put the Raiders in the endzone. Once again the Raiders went for two and this time QB Kevin Bickler was sacked by DB Timmy Triplett. Jags 14 - Raiders 12.

The Raiders came out of halftime on fire. On the 2nd play from scrimmage Bickler went over the top to WR Chad Soreson for an 80 yard score. Sal Corona made the PAT and the Raiders had their fiirst lead of the day, 19-14. Things went for bad to worse for the Jags as the QB fumbled away the ball on their first play from scrimmage. DT Kimo Fai-Fai recovered at the Jaguar 39. The Jags defense made the Raiders work to capitalize on the turnover as they needed 11 plays to cover the 39 yards. Bickler hit Alphonso Harris from 6 yards out to extend the Raider lead to 25-14. The Raiders tried to run for the 2 point conversion but Carlos Clark and Jackie Triplett kept Alphonso Harris out of the endzone.

Carlos Clark returned the kickoff 27 yards out to midfield. The Jags went for it on 4th and 5 but Torino Johnson was sacked by DE Donald Hobart. Assisted by two Jaguar penalties, the Raiders went on an 8 play - 47 yard drive. Bickler hit Henry Newson from 6 yards out (right) to give the Raiders a commanding 31-14 lead with just over 15:00 left to play.

The Jags answered the bell by going to their strength. Runs of 13, 29 and 14 yards by Malachi DeWalt were all the Jags needed to regain momentum as the 4th quarter began. DeWalts 14 yard score (left) combined with Black's PAT cut the Raider lead to 10, 31-21.

The momentum carried over to the Jaguar defense as they held the Raiders to 3 and out. Kevin Bickler's punt was fair caught by Akeem McAllister at the 17. DeWalt broke through the line and cut outside for 13 yards and a first down. On 4th and 18 from their own 22 the Jags gambled. Dickerson pitched to DeWalt on the option but DE Donald Hobart was able to bat the ball back towards the Jaguar goal line. He chased down the ball and gathered it up at the 5 and lumbered in for a score. Sal Corona's PAT put the Raiders up 38-21 with just over 10:00 to play.

The Jags tried to go deep to Akeem McAllister on their next possession but CB Wayne Harris was there to intercept the ball. The Raiders ran the ball to work on the clock but couldn't get a first down. A 22 yard punt didn't help much, giving the Jags the ball back at their own 38. Dickerson hit WR Richie Martin on a fade for 24 yards. Donald Hobart temporarily stalled the drive with his 2nd sack of the game. Another long pass to Martin picked up 22 yards. On 3rd and 6 from the 19, Dickerson hit Martin on a short button hook. Just as the Raider defense converged, Martin lateraled the ball to Carlos Clark who when untouched into the endzone. Black's PAT again cut the Raider lead to 10, 38-28.

The Jags tried to pooch a high kick just behind the the Raider front line. Veteran Henry Newson calmly came up and signaled for a fair catch. Thinking it was still a live ball, the Jags interfered with Newson causing a fumble. The crowd erupted in cheers as a Jaguar picked up the ball and ran in for an apparent score. Their cheers quickly turned to silent disbelief and then boos as the officials signaled fair catch interference on the Jaguars and awarded the ball to the Raiders. The Raiders tried to finish off the Jaguars with Bickler going over the top but the Jags refused to throw in the towel. The ball was underthrown and intercepted by SS Jackie Triplett. QB Torino Johnson hit Carlos Clark for 10 yards and TE Landon Bishop for 26, moving the ball well into Raider territory. The drive bogged down and on 3rd and 4 from the 35, Johnson threw deep down the middle. His intended receiver was intefered with and the 23 yard penalty gave the Jaguars a first down at the 12. With 2:38 left in the game, Johnson dropped back to pass and then scrambled to his left and squirmed through a couple of defenders for the score. Black's PAT would have pulled the Jags to within 3 but it hit the left upright. Raiders 38 - Jags 34.

The Jags attempted an onside kick but it bounced high over everyone and out of bounds. Two bursts up the middle by FB Beau Gates gave the Raiders a first down and they ran out the clock.
