1st Quarter
Thunderbolts: QB Marvin Bronson connected
with Deshawn McKenzie for 20 yards on 3rd and 12. On 3rd and 20 Bronson
hit RB Kalani Matanzi on a short screen. Matanzi juked his way for 24
yards while holding the ball like a loaf of bread. He fumbled when hit
from behind and Fred Hardwell recovered for the Titans.
Titans:
RB Malachi Dewalt gained 9 yards and QB Leo Dickerson connected with WR
Michael Bush for 16 to pick up the first down. On 3rd and 7, DeWalt gained
4 yards but a personal foul on the Thunderbolts moved the ball to the
TBolt 13. RB EJ Ash gained 7 yards on first down but the drive stalled
after that. Kevin Lamb's 24 field goal attempt was blocked. A high snap
delayed the kick and it never had a chance. The TBolts took over at their
10.
Thunderbolts: Bronson was sacked at
his 1 after a fumbled snap. On 2nd down he hit #10 Keti Ta'ufo'ou for
21 yards and a first down. After a 5 yard run by Bronson a penalty on
the Titans set up 3rd and short. On the last play of the quarter, Bronson
appeared to fumble the snap and get stopped short on a QB sneak but somehow
managed to get the first down.

2nd Quarter
Thunderbolts: (continued from 1st
quarter) A pass to Jason Pabillino gained 9 yards and a Titan personal
foul on the play moved the TBolts to the Titan 44. Bronson gained 8 yards
on first down and then threw deep into double coverage to #22 Mike Dunn
who almost came down with the ball. On 3rd and 2, Matanza gained 5 yards
and an apparent first down but holding moved the ball back to the 41.
He gained 11 yards and the first down on the following play. Two 1 yard
runs by Mantanza sandwiched around a Titan penalty brought up 3rd and
3. Bronson was flushed from the pocket, rolled to his left and found DeAngelo
Edwards for 20 yards and a first down at the Titan 3. Bronson was now
5 for 6 for 94 yards. RB Ishmael Littleton was stopped for no gain and
then a penalty set up 2nd and goal from the 8. Bronson was flushed from
the pocket and threw the ball away on 2nd down, and was hit as he threw
on 3rd down. With
7:36 remaining in the 1st half, Michael Braunstein
hit a 25 yard field goal to put the TBolts ahead 3-0.
The Tbolt offense ate 12:41 off the clock on the 16 play, 82 yard drive.
Titans:
The Titans couldn't overcome a procedure penalty on their next
drive. Leo Dickerson was forced out of the pocket and gained 7 yards on
3rd and 12. Piper Jordan's punt too a favorable bounce and rolled out
at the TBolts' 25.
Thunderbolts: The Titans spotted the
TBolts 15 yards with a personal foul right off the bat. Bronson connected
with #85 for 12 yards to the Titan 48, but then gave back 10 yards with
a holding penalty on the following play. A short pass to Roy Johnson and
5 yard run by Bronson gained moved the ball back to the original line
of scrimmage setting up 3rd and 10. A quick hitch to Pabillino was stopped
for no gain. On the ensuing punt a big hit for a 2 yard loss at the Titan
14 on the returner by Gary Dennis was nullified by a penalty. The next
punt took a bad bounce and only netted 20 yards.
Titans:
Runs of 5 and 4 yards by EJ Ash set up 3rd and 1. After a procedure penalty
pushed them back 5 yards, Dickerson connected with #10 Tsean Burton but
a huge hit by safety Brett Wells knocked the ball loose. A penalty on
the punt moved the Titans back 5 more bringing up 4th and 11. Punter Piper
Jordan gained 8 yards running to his left on the fake punt before being
stopped by Ishmael Littleton.
Thunderbolts: The TBolts took over
at the Titan 40 with just over a minute left in the half. Another quick
hitch to Pabillino was stopped for a loss by Jerimiah Captain and Dion
Alexander. Pressure by DE Shawn Lovelace on 3rd and 14 forced brought
out Michael Braunstein to punt. The kick may have been partially blocked
and went out just 10 yards downfield at the Titan 39.
Titans:
Dickerson connected with Captain for 7 yards and Jordan for 12 more before
throwing a long pass down the right sideline towards Michael Bush. Safety
Brett Wells picked it off at the 10 and returned it to the 32 before being
caught by Bush.
Thunderbolts: A last second Hail Mary
to Roy Johnson was intercepted by Drew Jenkins who returned it 9 yards
before being tackled by Johnson as time expired.

3rd Quarter
Titans:
Jeremiah Captain fielded the 2nd half kick-off at the 6 and powered through
several tackles to get the ball out to the 22. On 3rd and 13 QB Leo Dickerson
threw a bullet to WR Michael Bush for 21 yards. A personal foul on the
next play push the Titans back and pressure from the TBolt rush (#10 Keti
Ta'ufo'ou) forced back to back incomplete passes on 2nd and 3rd down.
Bush made a spectacular one handed grab while falling backwards out of
bounds on the 3rd down bomb but was ruled out of bounds. The punt snap
went over punter Piper Jordan's head. He caught the ball on a bounce,
rolled to his right and fired a pass to an open receiver over the middle.
The receiver made a diving attempt while coming back for the pass, jumped
up and headed untouched to the endzone - but the pass was ruled incomplete.
Thunderbolts:
The TBolts took over on downs at the Titan 31. QB Marvin Bronson swept
for 9 yards on first down, but a holding penalty on 2nd down push the
Bolts back to the 31. On 3rd and 14 Bronson had TE DeAngelo Edwards wide
open running a post but led him too far. With 9:23 left in the quarter,
Josh Kearns came on to attempt of 51 yard field goal that ended up being
a line-drive under the crossbar.
Titans:
Starting at their own 35, EJ Ash went off right tackle, broke outside
down the sideline and then cut back under the safety to daylight, but
was ruled out at the TBolts 42. He followed that 23 yard run with a 12
yard run giving the Titans a first down at the TBolt 30. LB Ishmael Littleton
tripped up Ash for no gain. A defensive holding call gave the Titans a
first down at the 19. QB Leo Dickerson was injured recovering a muffed
handoff on the next play. He went down awkwardly and was pounced on by
a Thunderbolt defender. He did not return. Piper Jordan filled in at QB
and after a handoff to Ash for a 1 yard gain, Jordan threw deep to Michael
Bush at the back of the endzone. TBolt LB Brad Dennis came down with the
ball but landed out of bounds. Kevin Lamb came on to attempt a 44 yard
field goal. His booming kick had plenty of distance but missed wide right.
Thunderbolts: Back to back runs by
Bronson and RB Kalani Matanza gained 11 yards and a first down at the
TBolt 38. Runs by Matanza and Bronson netted only 4 yards bringing up
3rd and 6. Bronson's pass was deflected by DE Terrance Stitt and nearly
intercepted by SS Drew Jenkins. Josh Kearns 46 yard punt was downed at
the Titan 12.
Titans:
A Tbolt penalty gave the Titans 5 yards on first down. Ash gained 4 yards
to bring up 2nd and 1, and then broke out for 24 more before being stopped
by #26 Chris St. John. An incomplete bomb and 3 yard run by Ash ended
the 3rd quarter with the Titans facing 3rd and 7 from the TBolt 48.

4th Quarter
Titans: Jordan
was flushed from the pocket and scrambled for 6 yards on the first play
of the 4th quarter. He gained 2 more on 4th and 1 to keep the drive alive.
On first down from the TBolt 44 he was flushed from the pocket, rolled
to his left and heaved a bomb down to the goal line. TBolt safety Brett
Wells leapt up in front of the receiver at the goal line and knocked the
ball back to Ronald Richmond who made a diving interception at the 5.
Thunderbolts: Hanging on to a 3-0
lead, the TBolts started at their own 5 with 13:24 left in the game. Matanza
gained 5 yards on first down, and then appeared to have the first down
on a 2nd down run, but a holding call negated the gain and pushed the
TBolts back to the 5. A 1 yard run by Littleton followed by an incomplete
bomb brought up 4th and 10 from the 5. Jeremiah Captain fielded Kearn's
punt at the Titan 41 and then broke several tackles on his way to a 17
yard return. A flagrant late hit on Captain moved the ball down the the
TBolt 12.
Titans:
Ash was held to just a yard on first down. On 2nd
he swept left and powered over a DB into the endzone. Lamb booted the
PAT as the TBolts were assessed a personal foul for hitting the
center. Kicking off from midfield due to the personal foul, Nick Obrastoff
boomed a high kick 2 yards deep in the endzone. The TBolt returner made
it out to the 10 or 15 before reversing field and running backwards trying
to get around the Titan coverage before being tackled at the 5.
Thunderbolts:
After controlling the ball in the first half, the TBolt offense had only
managed 27 yards, all on the ground, and 1 first down through 20 minutes
of the 2nd half. Now they had only 10 minutes left to cover 95 yards to
have any chance of winning. Bronson fell on a fumbled snap on first down.
On 2nd he connected with TE DeAngelo Edwards for 12 yards and a first
down. His 6 yard run was followed by another holding penalty bringing
up 2nd and 14. A Titan penalty moved the ball up 5 yards, and then Bronson
connected with Jason Pabillino for 7 yards to bring up 3rd and 2. Matanza
was stopped short and the TBolts called timeout to discuss 4th and 1 at
their own 26 with 5:42 remaining. Bronson swept left for 5 yards and a
new set of downs. DT Fred Hardwell batted down a 2nd down pass, and Bronson
rebounded on 3rd with a 21 yard pass to #10 Keti Ta'ufo'ou. Ishmael Littleton
gained 7 yards down to the Titan 38, but his next run was negated by yet
another holding call. On 2nd and 12 from the Titan
47, Bronson rolled right to buy time and then threw all the way across
the field to Jason Pabillino standing all alone on the far sideline. Pabillino
caught the ball about the line of scrimmage and rumbled down the sideline
and tried to power through #13 Tarrell Harrison right at the first down
marker. Somehow Harrison stripped the ball after the collision and returned
it 23 yards back to the TBolt 42 before beind caught from behind by Pabillino.
The TBolts had held the ball for nearly 8 minutes on their 12 play, 60
yard drive.
Titans:
Despite a big sack by DeAngelo Edwards, the Titan trio of Ash, Dewalt
and Piper Jordan combined for 29 yards and 2 first downs on 5 carries
to run out the clock.
